7 Deadly Mistakes that Students Commit while Preparing for CSIR NET Exam

Hey There ,

In the last chapter we talked about the Multi Channel Exam Prep Strategy.

I’m going to share a lot of insider knowledge and best practices with you in the upcoming days. But before we start studying success let’s take a quick look at failure and make sure you avoid the costly Preparation mistakes of others.

Let’s look at the “7 Deadly Exam Preparation Sins” committed by many Aspirants:

1. Not Understanding Concepts completely: Many Aspirants make generalizations as to what concepts are all about. There may be a specific misconception which can kill your understanding, but Understanding each Concept’s challenges are going to be different. I’ve seen Aspirants conduct poor research on the right books for the concepts before studying them, and then fail to ask those concept specific questions in regards to their unique needs and pain-points. Instead, they’ll talk on and on about how great their understanding of the topic is and its 100’s questions which they solved. Aspirants need passion for their preparation, but not at the expense of taking the time to understand the concepts and not asking the right questions to the teachers

2. Not Studying: Most Aspirants explain all the bells and whistles of their preparation strategy, but fail to execute the core plan. To do that, you need to study, study from the right teachers and spend a lot of time on self study. A prospective aspirant needs to be ready on spending hours on the books and the facilities teacher provides to them, rather than the 100 topics you’re planning to study, follow the tips provides in Step 1 and 2. Do not get frustrated if you are not understanding a topic, approach the right teachers as quickly as possible and get it resolved quickly.

3. Not Showing Up for coaching classes: Most students enrol for coaching classes but slowly slowly stop going. As a result, they miss out on topics crucial for exam point of view First, the student miss the opportunity to connect directly with their teachers. Second, they miss direct feedback from teachers, which often provides the best recommendations to improve a young student’s preparation. We at BioTecNika provide options through which you can stay in touch with our Teachers at all the time and get the best feedback possible.

4. Not Following Up teachers for queries: Most students ask questions once to the teacher and never follow up again if the teacher does not reply immediately. Maybe they follow up once or twice, but not relentlessly. Students are not shameless enough (sound familiar?). They worry too much about intruding on the Teacher’s time or being too persistent out of fear of losing the impression. If you lose a prospective teacher’s impression because you followed up too much, then they weren’t going to solve your query anyways. I’m not advocating calling the teacher every few minutes, until they rip their phone line out of the wall; but giving up on a query won’t lead to Success in CSIR NET Exam. Keep up with them until they solve your query, either a “yes” or a “no.” Everything else doesn’t count.

5. No Study Plan in Place: Students love to optimize their study plan but not their Study funnel. Most don’t even have a Study funnel to optimize. Students today have access to a vast amount of data / books but often fail to track some basic metrics for their Topic Priority funnel.

6. Not Joining the Right Coaching: Students often think the cheaper their Coaching service the better. While a low price tag does lower the barrier to entry for you, it can also dilute the value of your preparation. If a coaching provides massive success rate and gives more facilities, How it can provide best service at low price ? When you have a cheap coaching , expect cheap facilities with little or not doubt resolving strategy. When you need help to solve your questions + get best support all the time, you need to consider if you join a coaching which is priced appropriately to sustain your preparation plus has a good success rate. Ultimately, You need the best value of your investment but you cannot expect best from a cheap price tagged low class coaching center which has no proven success record. Do not decide to join a coaching just because it has posted some random photos of toppers online. Look at the right mix of success record and Facilities they provide.

7. Not Asking for the More: Sometimes simply asking for more makes the process move forward in the direction that you want. After all of the hard work, some students are still afraid to ask for extra classes out of fear of losing the impression. If you spent so long cultivating your preparation with the help of your teacher, wouldn’t it be easy to ask for more classes to practice more questions ?

Some Students start their preparation out of love for the subject, some for career growth and high salaries . At the end of the day, every student needs to succeed in CSIR NET & GATE to make their vision a reality. The great thing about the mistakes above is that they are all addressable. Once they’ve been identified in your Prep Schedule, CSIR NET Question Paper won’t be a barrier to your success.

Happy Preparing!
